Lakeland – Brandt’s Candies – Logo

In our final year at Lakeland, we were required to choose a local business, gain their approval and do a set of branding materials for them.  I chose Brandt’s Candies on Lost Nation Road in Willoughby, a long-time, old-fashioned family business which makes handmade chocolates.  I felt they should emphasize their longevity and chose retro fonts and elements for their items.  This is the logo I created for the company. The circle represented the top of a copper kettle and the swirl in the middle, the aftermath of a ladle being run through the chocolate contained by the kettle.
